Catalog Natural Sciences 2008/09

Dear Reader,

Cover Verzeichnis With this catalogue we present the current Walter de Gruyter science publishing program for 2008/09.

Our Chemistry program will publish a number of new editions of well- established German-language textbooks on general and inorganic chemistry, including those by Ralf Steudel and Erwin Riedel, and is pleased to introduce a new interdisciplinary book series Green Sciences. In Biology, alongside the renowned Handbook of Zoology, new textbooks and reference works in Botany comprise a new program segment. The Physics program offers new editions in the field of experimental physics with the Bergmann/Schaefer Series and in quantum physics by the Nobel prizewinning author Cohen-Tannoudji. Geodesy is another main focus, with titles on photogrammetry, least squares methods and history of geodesy.

We are pleased that the program has been complemented with specialist works from the new imprints Max Niemeyer (Tübingen) and K. G. Saur (Munich). These include significant bibliographic classifications and documentation in the fields of technology, sciences and cartography. Last but not least, with books in the fields of science history and ethics, we’d like to encourage an interdisciplinary dialog.

All books and journal editions have been produced to the usual high quality standards. We wish you interesting and inspiring reading.
