Biography
Martin Forward obtained undergraduate degrees in History and Theology at the Universities of Manchester and Cambridge, after which he spent two years as a fraternal worker at the Henry Martyn Institute of Islamic Studies, Hyderabad, India. He received an MLitt with distinction in Islamic Studies from the University of Lancaster, and undertook PhD research at the University of Bristol examining the contribution of Geoffrey Parrinder to the study of religion.

He has taught at the Universities of Leicester, Bristol, Derby and Cambridge, and is presently the Helena Wackerlin Professor of Religion at Aurora University and Executive Director of the Wackerlin Center for Faith and Action. He has authored many articles and edited two books.

He has written seven books, the latest of which is The Nature and the Name of Love: Religion for the Contemporary World, Peterborough: Epworth, 2008.
