Biography
Born 1955; 1974-1981, Study of theology and History of Religions in Heidelberg, Tübingen and Paris.1982-1984 Minister of the French reformed Church; 1984-1988 Teaching Assistant (Hebrew, Ugaritic, Hebrew Bible) at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Geneva; 1988: ThD: "Israels Väter" (OBO 99), 1989-1993: Assistant Professor, Geneva; since 1993 Professor of Hebrew Bible, University of Lausanne. Taught also in Paris, Montpellier, Zurich, Neuchatel, Managua, Mexico. 1999-2005: Chair of the Deuteronomistic History Group (SBL). Main scientific interest: Pentateuch and Deuteronomistic History.
