1953 Birth (Zuerich, Switzerland); 1972-79 Studies in psychology, philosophy and history of religions (Zuerich, Tuebingen, Heidelberg); 1980-87 Assistant for New Testament Theological faculty of the University of Zuerich; 1983 Dissertation in patristics (Synesius of Cyrene, publ. 1985); 1987 Habilitation in New Testament (Paul about freedom, publ. 1989); 1988/89 Lecturer in Japan (Doshisha-University in Kyoto; Kwansai Gakuin-University in Nishinomiya); 1989-2000 Professor for New Testament at Ev.-Theological Faculty at the University of Berne; 1994-1996 Dean of the Ev.-Theological Faculty at the University of Berne; since 2000 Professor at the Theological Faculty at the University of Zuerich.
