Since the first volume has been published in 1976 the Theologische Realenzyklopädie (TRE) has become an indispensable research tool for all theologians and is providing valuable information for all those interested in humanities and religion. The TRE is available in two editions: the half leather bound edition which is published in approx. six single issues every year, and the paperback edition.
Half leather bound Edition
The Theologische Realenzyklopädie is being published in half leather bound volumes with a jacket cover. The volumes may contain plates and/or fold-out maps.
There is a commitment to subscribe to the whole edition of TRE. There is the possibility to subscribe to the single issues (approx. 3 double issues/year) or to the bound volumes.

Paperback edition
The Theologische Realenzyklopädie is available as well as a paperback edition. In 1993, the first part of the TRE (vols. 1-17) was published as a paperback edition, the second part (vols. 18-27) followed in paperback in 1999. Both parts include detailed subject indexes (1-17; 1-27). The third and final part of the paperback edition is now being published.
The paperback volumes do not include the plates and/or fold-out maps included in the bound edition.
