Biographical Notes Born in 1924, M.A. (1946 ) and B.D. in Ecclesiastical History (1949) at University of St. Andrews (Scotland), 1949 Jacobus Research Fellow at Hartford Theological Seminary, Hartford, Conn. (USA), Ph.D (1953), ordained Minister of the Church of Scotland 1953, Lecturer in Church History in the University of Aberdeen 1955, Lecturer in Ecclesiastical History in the University of St. Andrews 1956, Professor of Ecclesiastical History 1970-1989, Dean of the Faculty of Divinity 1978-1983, Emeritus Professor in 1989.
