March 27, 2015

Birkhäuser is proud to announce it will be releasing all of its Le Corbusier titles for the first time as eBooks in order to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the architect's death. The Le Corbusier Online eBook package contains a total of 22 works, including the Œuvre complète, all Le Corbusier Guides, Le Modulor et Modulor 2, Une petite maison, and Choix de lettres.

"The digitalization of all works by and about Le Corbusier is an important step toward preserving this literary treasure in architecture as well as making it available to a new generation of readers," says Michel Richard, director of the Fondation Le Corbusier.

The eight volumes of the Œuvre complète, which were produced between 1929 and 1970 in direct collaboration with Le Corbusier, remain an unparalleled documentation of the architect's work. The Le Corbusier Guides offer detailed descriptions of Le Corbusier's buildings. The Le Corbusier Online package additionally includes more than 300 letters to and from Le Corbusier, one of the 20th century's most influential architects.

"We're pleased to make Le Corbusier's work available in digital format – this is a clear highlight of our architecture catalog," says Dr. Anke Beck, managing director of De Gruyter.

An excellent resource for all those interested in the life and legacy of Le Corbusier, Le Corbusier Online offers easy access to bibliographic information and can also be searched using various criteria.
