New at de Gruyter – the European Journal of Nanomedicine, produced by CLINAM, the European Foundation for Clinical Nanomedicine
September 14, 2011
De Gruyter’s STM journal portfolio has a new addition - the European Journal of Nanomedicine, official journal of the European Foundation for Clinical Nanomedicine, CLINAM. Prompted by the rapid growth in the importance of nanomedicine, the Foundation launched this journal to provide a platform for the European view on the topic in addition to its successful annual congress, the European Conference for Clinical Nanomedicine.
The journal started life in 2008. Three volumes have since been produced, each with 4 editions. The editors, Patrik Hunziker (Basel), Beat Löffler (Basel) and Yechezkel Barenholz (Jerusalem), are scientists who have gained worldwide renown in the field of nanomedicine. The peer-reviewed articles are published online ahead-of-print and can be cited immediately using their DOI number. De Gruyter will release the first edition of Volume 4 in the first quarter of 2012.
"Taking over the European Journal of Nanomedicine is part of our strategy, as publishers, to extend our program in the research areas that are now growing at enormous speed, like the interface between nanotechnology and clinical medicine, for example. In doing so we are continuing the process that we started three years ago of building up our international presence in a targeted fashion," said Dr. Alexander Grossmann, Vice President Publishing STM at De Gruyter.
