The Bible and Its Reception
De Gruyter is setting new standards in the field of biblical reception.
The initial contribution is the internationally acclaimed Encyclopedia of the Bible and Its Reception (EBR), a reference work which provides a comprehensive overview of an extensive range of biblical and religious topics as well as their reception.
Based on EBR, the series Handbooks of the Bible and Its Reception (HBR) offers broad and in-depth analyses of selected issues found in EBR, focusing on particular themes, regions, figures, and historical contexts.
The series Studies of the Bible and Its Reception (SBR) is comprised of monographs and collected volumes that explore the reception history of the Bible in a wide variety of academic and cultural contexts.
The Journal of the Bible and Its Reception (JBR) promotes the study of the reception of the Bible in terms of both methodology and content.
These innovative publications are new venues in which De Gruyter is expanding and deepening its longstanding expertise in biblical studies. They build on a long tradition of prestigious journals, such as Zeitschrift für die alttestamentliche Wissenschaft (ZAW), Zeitschrift für die neutestamentliche Wissenschaft (ZNW) and their respective book series.
