Cultural Studies

The Cultural Studies program from De Gruyter is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach and a wide range of topics. It joins German-language cultural studies with the Anglophone German Studies and Cultural Studies.

In recent years, the portfolio has been expanded in particular by the areas Cultural Theory, Memory Studies, Conflict Studies, Film Studies and Popular Culture. It also presents interdisciplinary literary studies topics such as "Literature and Law" and "Literature and Science". Here, all epochs from the Middle Ages to the present are examined.

The publications appear mainly in English, but also in German – our program is therefore of particular interest to scholars publishing internationally.
