DESCRIPTION

The journal Molecular Based Mathematical Biology (MBMB) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal, aiming to promote the mathematical study of biological processes at the molecular scale. The purpose of the current special issue is to create a platform for researchers from mathematical, biological, computer sciences and other related disciplines to report recent novel developments on computational approaches for modeling various critical biological processes occurring on dynamical lipid bilayer membranes, on either molecular or cellular level.

The solicited topics of this special issue include, but are not limited to:

  • Deformation or morphology change of lipid bilayer membranes
  • Lipid transportation or localization on bilayer membranes
  • Transportation of particles (molecules , ions, protons) on or across bilayer membranes
  • Modeling and simulation of membrane proteins
  • Protein-membrane interactions
  • Single/Collective cell migration

Please note the publisher has waived the Article Processing Charges for this special issue, but articles will be open-access in accordance with the overall goals of the journal.
