Nietzsche – Philosoph der Kultur(en)?
[Nietzsche: Philosopher of Culture(s)?]
Ed. by Sommer, Andreas Urs
Aims and Scope
Is Friedrich Nietzsche a philosopher of culture(s)? This book deals with Nietzsche’s examination of the concept and concrete instances of culture as well as with his plans to create a culture affirmed by life. The author explores how far Nietzsche’s attempt to judge his own culture from the perspective of other cultures already provides a new path for intercultural reflection. Finally, the book treats the reception of Nietzsche’s cultural-philosophical views in the 20th century and questions how far Nietzsche’s cultural thought is relevant for contemporary cultural philosophy and the “cultural turn” in the humanities.
