[The Photii Patriarchae Lexicon]
Ed. by Theodoridis, Christos
Aims and Scope
This lexicon, authored by the renowned Byzantine scholar Photios I (ca. 820–891), was a comprehensive and practical dictionary and encylopedia. This edition of the work includes for the first time a significant text source that was recently discovered. This is an indispensible reference for Hellenists, Byzantinists, historians, and theologists. A fourth volume, slated to be released around 2014, will conclude the edition.
