Bildung als Kunst
Fichte, Schiller, Humboldt, Nietzsche
["Bildung" as an Art]
Ed. by Stolzenberg, Jürgen / Ulrichs, Lars-Thade
Aims and Scope
This collection illuminates the concept of “Bildung” in the works of Fichte, Schiller, Humboldt, and Nietzsche. Besides seeking to work out the theoretical contour of aesthetic education in the 18th and 19th centuries, the contributions attempt to make reason known to itself in the interdisciplinary study of “Bildung”, a concept important in fields as diverse as pedagogy, philosophy, and art. Moreover, a detailed examination of the concept of aesthetic education opens new perspectives on education debates in the present.
