The Journal of Literary Theory (JLT) will be the first journal in a German-speaking area that dedicates itself solely to the publication and discussion of topics in literary theory.

The journal will

• cover a variety of trends in literary theory with an interdisciplinary orientation
• combine the various, in part simultaneously ongoing debates on literary theory in German-speaking areas;
• connect these debates to international research.

The topics discussed in JLT will range from basic problems in literary studies to application-oriented studies with systematic cognitive interests. JLT will seek the exchange with neighbouring disciplines interpreting texts and symbols and ask for the relevancy of theory building in literary studies in these disciplines. The contributions will be in English and German. All German articles will include an abstract in English.

The journal will be accompanied by a website (www.JLTonline.de) where reviews, conference reports, a list of relevant projects, graduate courses, conferences, and links to other websites will be offered.
