Abstract

In 1913 Carl Robert staged a German translation of Sophocles' Ichneutae with students from the university of Halle at the Goethe Theatre in Bad Lauchstädt. Robert took a large risk in freely replacing the missing conclusion, but its success confirmed his daring.
