Abstract
Charismatic spirituality is one of the fastest growing Christian movements in Africa. The Pentecostal/charismatic influence on Africa, which started as early as mission Christianity in late nineteenth century, has been growing in Africa through the planting of various types of African Independent Churches. These churches have traditional and/or charismatic characters and appeal to the worldviews of Africans, which still remain traditional. In the present socio-economic-political context of Kenyan Christianity, charismatic spirituality is a viable option for an African contextual spirituality that holistically meets the needs and yearnings of African people. Charismatic spirituality provides answers to both religious and human problems through sound biblical teaching, affirmation of African music, a balanced approach to the ministry of the Holy Spirit, and non-syncretistic methods in spiritual warfare and deliverance ministry.
