Aims and Scope

Aims and scope
Sociocultural Pragmatics (SOPRAG) is a biannual publication that encourages the international dissemination of research results on theoretical and applied linguistics, focusing on social and cultural aspects of the Spanish language in all its forms and expressions. SOPRAG publishes high-quality papers that are useful to establish the interdependence between pragmatic, social, and cultural aspects of the Spanish language and its relations with other languages. SOPRAG welcomes manuscripts with thematic, theoretical, empirical, and terminological aspects in the area of Pragmatics, with an emphasis on sociocultural perspectives. SOPRAG accepts original papers preferably written in Spanish, but will consider manuscripts written in other Romance languages and English.

Sociocultural Pragmatics (SOPRAG) is published in two issues, 500-page volume per year, in print and electronic formats, with a peer, double-blind, review process. The electronic format of the journal is entirely open access, without authorship charges or readership embargoes. SOPRAG is internationally indexed in databases such as EBSCO, SCOPUS, and MLA, among many others.

Sociocultural Pragmatics (SOPRAG) is published with the financial support of Vetenskapsrådet (Swedish Research Council, Ministry of Education and Research, Sweden), Stockholm University, and EDICE Program (edice.org).

Instructions for Authors

Submission of Manuscripts
Instructions for Authors

Manuscript Submission
Manuscripts should be written in Spanish, with approximately 50,000 to 60,000 characters (including spaces, punctuation, and other spellings, but excluding the reference list). Contributions are also accepted in other languages, at the discretion of the editors. Manuscripts should be submitted electronically using the ScholarOne platform:

http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/soprag

The manuscript should contain a preliminary page with the following information (1) the author and, if any, the co-author's contact details, (2) a brief academic biography ("bionote") of each of the authors with a maximum of 100 words, (3) an abstract of all the paper up to 300 words, (4) up to six key words (5) a preliminary statement of authorship taking responsibility for the material.

Review Process
Manuscripts accepted by the editors are subject to a double-blind review process by two international experts. The process involves three months.

Format and Style
Once the manuscript has been accepted for publication, authors will be required to submit the final version of their paper in accordance with the format and style of the journal. RPSE adheres to the APA 6th edition standards. The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to refuse the publication of a manuscript that will not fit the format and style of the journal.

Permissions
For the publication of the manuscript, the Editor-in-Chief will ask authors to sign a publishing agreement, which includes a statement of copyright ownership on the paper and no transfer of rights to a third party prior to the publication. The agreement also includes a declaration of no conflict of interests and a funding acknowledgement, if any. The final version of the manuscript accepted for publication must include a copy of any permit of use for any material from third parties (such as illustrations, graphs, tables or extensive quotations -over 1,000 words-), on which the author does not own the copyrights.
