This volume provides an updated, concise, and overall complete or thorough presentation of word formation in the German language from the 20th and the early 21st century, incorporating the newest research in this fundamental revision of the 2007 third edition. Several key theoretical questions have been newly resolved, deliberations relating to recent questions have been supplemented and current examples from journalistic and belletristic sources, as well as, electronically available corpora have been added. More importance has been attached to internal system references in the word formation models. The subject and form index have been improved.
