Aims and Scope
volume 5 is dedicated to the intergovernmental integration and international legal relationships within the law concerning the protection of cultural goods and art restitution and thereby, serves as a supplement to the civil and public law (i.e. national) commentaries presented in the previous volumes. To aid the settlement of restitution and repatriation claims, the differences in the law concerning the protection of cultural goods during wartime and peacetime are addressed and - according to the generally recognized sources of law - the international and European laws on the protection of cultural goods are organized on the basis of international treaties and international customary law as well as the general legal and soft law principles.
