Die Valerius Maximus-Epitome des Ianuarius Nepotianus
[The Epitome of Valerius Maximus by Ianuarius Nepotianus]
Series:Untersuchungen zur antiken Literatur und Geschichte
Aims and Scope
Rainer Jakobi presents a new critical edition of the partially extant Late Antique epitome of Valerius Maximus by Ianuarius Nepotianus, as well as a first edition of the fragments of books III-IX of Valerius Maximus preserved in Landulfus Sagax. In the exegetic commentary he explains the text critical decisions and offers above all a critical analysis of the sources: besides the exempla collection of Valerius Maximus, Republican and Imperial sources, such as Cicero, Livy and Quintilian, are used.
