[The Semantics of Tense]
Series:Beihefte zur Zeitschrift für romanische Philologie 366
Aims and Scope
The nature and semantic role of tenses remains controversial in current research despite important new insights. This study aims to clarify the questions raised with reference to the example of French. From a perspective based in integrative linguistics (IL), it develops a detailed new analysis of the French tense system. This analysis aims to achieve greater coherence and particularly includes uses beyond the indicative. The book is aimed at professional linguists and candidates for advanced examinations.
