    • over 137,000 place names, not only including independent towns and municipalities but also over 100,000 otherwise undocumented small and very small villages, settlements, small settlement areas, farms, hamlets, etc.
    • their affiliation with local administrative bodies (town or municipality) along with their respective communal codes
    • number of inhabitants, area, dialing code, new: geographical coordinates, height above sea level and UN/LOCODE

    The respective responsible federal, state and communal authorities as well as the appropriate jurisdiction for all places in Germany:

    • administrative associations, associations of communities, communities
      county, regional administrative district, state (Land)
    • general jurisdiction, courts dealing with employment, financial, and social matters, administrative court
