Hermanns, Fritz: Fritz Hermanns: Der Sitz der Sprache im Leben
Beiträge zu einer kulturanalytischen Linguistik
[Fritz Hermanns: The Location of Language in Life]
Ed. by Kämper, Heidrun / Linke, Angelika / Wengeler, Martin
Aims and Scope
“Linguistic history as a history of attitudes”, “linguistic hermeneutics”, and “affective lexis” – these are just a few examples of the interdisciplinary concepts that Fritz Hermanns (1940–2007) introduced to stimulate and enrich the crossover between German linguistics and cultural studies. This new volume presents these concepts for the first time alongside a discussion of Hermanns’s contributions to linguistic history, as well as to his clarification of terminological issues in political speech. The book is thus well-suited to serve as a basic introduction to modern linguistics in its intersection with cultural studies.
