Ikonische Gesten
Grundzüge einer linguistischen Theorie
[Iconic Gestures: Foundations for a Theory of Linguistics]
Aims and Scope
Despite a longstanding realization on the part of linguists of the important communicative function of non-verbal gestures there has been no linguistic modeling framework to analyze the interplay between language and gesture in human communication. Based upon semiotics and epistemology, the book provides the first such framework to enable a grammatical analysis that integrates language and gesture.
