    (Adoption)

    Rev. by Frank, Rainer

    Red. Engler, Helmut

      Aims and Scope

The 2007 revised edition is dealing in detail with substantive German adoption law. Special attention is paid to current questions, for example the reinforced legal position of the father who is not married to the mother, affiliation in case of a targeted adoption and the substitution of refused consent in adoption. The observations on open adoption, on the child's right to know his or her parentage and on stepchild adoption, including by same sex couples, are of particular interest for practical adoption law.
