(Cumulated Index of Authors for Editions 1 (1974) – 29 (2002)) Bibliographia Cartographica is an annually published bibliography containing entries on all branches of cartographical literature. Each volume lists well over 2,000 monographs and articles from some 400 periodicals, analysed by an international group of collaborating experts. Cartographical themes covered include the history of cartography, cartographical institutions and prominent individuals in the field, map production, topographic cartography and atlas cartography, in addition to fields such as maps for the blind, film and computer screen maps, and map use. Bibliographia Cartographica has been published for 29 years now. It has accumulated data holdings of some 134,000 entries, accessible in each volume through an index of authors. The details included in the individual volumes depend not only on the year of publication, but also the period covered. Since the analysis of foreign journals and the delivery of titles are subject to certain delays, addenda are widely used. Consequently, searches for individual authors involve the use of several volumes. Through the cumulated index of the entire Bibliographia Cartographica, author’s names can be found quickly – regardless of the year.
