The Journal of Oriental Archaeology is a new publication issued by the Oriental Section of the German Archaeological Institute. It combines the Section’s two previously separate regional journals Baghdader Mitteilungen (Baghdad Transactions) and Damaszener Mitteilungen (Damascus Transactions) and extends them to present the Oriental Section as an interregional and interdisciplinary research unit.
The journal appears annually and deals with the most recent international research on the Levant, Mesopotamia and the Arabian Peninsula.
