Aims and Scope
At the centre of the commentary on Book 22 of the Iliad is the interpretation of the combat between Hector, the son of the King of Troy and commander of the city's defenders, and Achilles, the foremost warrior of the Greek attackers. Above all the defining effect for the fate of Troy of Hector’s death in this duel is considered.
