Aims and Scope
Not only does this study present a contribution to the reception of the Ancient World, it also concerns itself with the history of historiography and the history of science. The central topic is the “afterlife” of Alexander. The author demonstrates how the history and the figure of the Macedonian ruler was formed in historiography, poetry and art from the 4th century BC to the 19th century, from Kallisthenes to Droysen.
