– Since January of 2015 Wolters Kluwer has been working with De Gruyter to distribute its book and journal content as eBooks and eJournals. De Gruyter will globally distribute the publisher's law publications through its integrated distribution platform, selling outside of the German-speaking world directly to libraries and end customers as well as through third-party retailers.
"We were impressed by De Gruyter's expertise in the distribution of eBooks and eJournals, as well as its great international reach," says Ulrich Hermann, CEO of Wolters Kluwer Deutschland. "With our internationally relevant titles, such as Karsten Schmidt's Trade Law and the Zeitschrift für das gesamte Insolvenzrecht [Insolvency Law Journal], we'll now be able to reach important customer groups abroad – for example, in the Asia-Pacific region."
Through the addition of content from Wolters Kluwer, over 500 backlist eBooks – in addition to new releases ¬– will be added to De Gruyter's law catalog in 2015. Furthermore, 20 eJounals will be added to De Gruyter's journal price list in 2016.
"The partnership with Wolters Kluwer will greatly enrich our law catalog," says Carsten Buhr, Managing Director of De Gruyter. "Together with De Gruyter's content as well as the content from our partner Otto Schmidt Verlag, we're able to provide our international customers with a wide range of high-value catalog offerings."
