Amsterdam University Press (AUP) and De Gruyter have formed a commercial partnership to distribute AUP’s English-language e-books. AUP publishes over 100 new academic monographs every year, including in the areas of European History, Asian Studies, Contemporary Society, Film & Media and Linguistics.
The agreement with De Gruyter includes 120 frontlist titles for 2018, 140 frontlist titles in 2019 as well as a backlist of 470 titles including 250 open access titles from 2000 to 2018.
“We are looking forward to the partnership with De Gruyter since it has the potential not only to increase access to the scholarship that we publish, but also to demonstrate how smaller and medium-sized publishers can cooperate in the face of a rapidly changing publishing landscape,” said Jan-Peter Wissink, Managing Director of Amsterdam University Press.
“We are very pleased to be working with AUP going forward, especially given that the AUP program is very complementary to ours,” said Steve Fallon, Director of the Publisher Partner Program De Gruyter. “The partnership cements the position of degruyter.com as the source for premier humanities and social science content from top tier university presses from all over the world.”
