Special Issue based on IEEE International Workshop on Advanced Robotics and its Social Impacts (ARSO 2018)

This Special Issue will be based on the IEEE International Workshop on Advanced Robotics and its Social Impacts (ARSO 2018) (http://www.arso2018.eu) that will take place in Genova, Italy, during 27-29 of September 2018, in conjunction with IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2018) (https://www.iros2018.org).

The authors are requested to submit their full revised version of papers to the special issue complying the general scope of the journal. The submitted papers will undergo peer review process before they can be accepted. Notification of acceptance will be communicated as we progress with the review process.

The deadline for the submissions is January 5th, 2019 but individual papers will be reviewed and published online on an ongoing basis.

All submissions to the Special Issue must be made electronically via online submission system Editorial Manager: http://www.editorialmanager.com/paladyn/

All manuscripts will go through the journal high standards, quick, fair and comprehensive peer-review procedure (at least two independent reviews, single blind). When entering your submission via online submission system please choose the option “SI based on ARSO 2018”.

ARSO is a single track workshop, aiming to provide world class researchers, engineers, investors, economists, and representatives of industry and government with a forum to discuss cutting-edge robotics technologies, business opportunities, and their impacts on human society. Topics are all cutting-edge robotics technologies. ARSO 2018 focuses in particular on AI and its impact on future robotic systems. There are welcome contributions that fall in the following special sessions:

  • Legal and ethical regulations for AI and robotic systems
  • HRI and social robotics
  • The role of AI in the implementation of cognitive robots
  • Industrial robotics
  • Intelligent robots for rehabilitation
