DESCRIPTION

As a direct connection between the cortical activity of brain and external devices, the brain-Computer Interfaces [BCI] can decode, interact, translate and process useful information from thoughts and actions to simulate the behavior of human beings, and then exhibit intelligent algorithms to drive the brain-machine devices. With the developments of neuro-robotics technologies, Brain Computer Interfaces [BCIs] have been progressively designed to allow computer devices to accomplish complicated tasks in an intelligent way by exploring various cognitive effects and intentions. Moreover, Brain Computer Interface [BCI] is a promising technology to leverage permissive intelligence in brain sensing devices, behavioral analytics and cognitive processing by effectively using the deep neural network architectures.
Brain Computer Interface [BCI] paves way to the new innovations in neuro-rehabilitation techniques to enhance quality of life of patients to achieve an enhanced cognition and perception. Recently, due to the rapid advances in neural networks, Brain Computer Interface [BCI] are integrated with the controlled virtual environments for treating people with disabilities. The propitious characteristics of BCI such as high accuracy, rapid response time and multi-functionality creates a significant breakthrough in various smart medical applications. In the near future, Brain Computer Interface will gain the capability to restore and enhance the neural features by connecting it to a computer system.

This special issue recent advances, challenges, and future application perspectives of Brain Computer Interface [BCI] in smart medical applications.

Authors are requested to submit their research papers to the Special Issue, complying the general scope of the journal. The submitted papers will undergo the standard peer-review process before they can be accepted. Notification of acceptance will be communicated as we progress with the review process.. 

HOW TO SUBMIT

Manuscripts can be written in TeX, LaTeX (strongly recommended) - the journal’s LATEX template. Please note that we do not accept papers in Plain TEX format. Text files can be also submitted as standard DOCUMENT (.DOC) which is acceptable if the submission in LATEX is not possible. For an initial submission, the authors are strongly advised to upload their entire manuscript, including tables and figures, as a single PDF file.
All submissions to the Special Issue must be made electronically via online submission system Editorial Manager: http://www.editorialmanager.com/paladyn/
All manuscripts will undergo the standard peer-review process (single blind, at least two independent reviewers). When entering your submission via online submission system please choose the option “SI on Brain Computer Interface for Smart Medical Applications”.
Submission of a manuscript implies that the work described has not been published before and it is not under consideration for publication anywhere else.
