Cultural Studies

De Gruyter’s program in Cultural Studies is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach and a great range of topics, combining German Kulturwissenschaften and Anglophone German Studies and Cultural Studies.
In the last years the portfolio has been expanded to include the areas Cultural Theory, Memory Studies, Conflict Studies, Film Studies and Popular Culture.

It also features interdisciplinary topics such as “Law and Literature” and “Literature and the Natural Sciences”, covering all eras from the Middle Ages to the present. The program publishes in both English and German,
therefore making it especially attractive for international scholars.
