Various notions of entropy have been introduced in different areas of Mathematics over the years. This allowed for a fruitful dynamical approach to many classical problems in Algebra, Ergodic Theory, Geometry and Topology. Though some technical details depend on the specific contexts, many common ideas underline all these notions.

This Special Issue follows the homonymous conference held in Lodz (Poland) in July 9-12, 2019.

We invite all the conference participants and, more generally, any researcher in related areas, to contribute.
Both original research and brief surveys of known results will be considered for publication.


The scope of this Special issue includes:

    • Entropy: topological entropy, algebraic entropy, measure entropy, geometric entropy, receptive entropy, coarse entropy, values of the entropy and connections between various entropies (variational principle and bridge theorems)
    • Entropy/pressure and its connection to dimension and quasimorphisms
    • Real analytic diffeomorphisms of real analytic manifolds
    • Flows on differentiable manifolds
    • Plane dynamical systems
    • Nilspaces
    • Geometry and computability
    • The holonomy pseudo-group of foliations
    • Dynamics on the Cantor set
    • Amenable group actions




Before submission authors should carefully read over the author guidelines, which are located at https://www.degruyter.com/view/j/taa. All manuscripts are subject to the standard peer review process before acceptance.

Manuscripts should be sent via email in the PDF format to the Guest Editor from the research area. In case there is no editor from the given area, manuscript should be sent to Dikran Dikranjan.
