DESCRIPTION

Growth in world population and corresponding increase in energy consumption, as well as the fact that most of those energy needs is still mostly fulfilled by fossil fuels, put the focus into methods of thermal transports and energy savings. Experimental testing and numerical simulations are essential methods for investigations of thermal and energy problems in many fields, including chemical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, materials science, etc. In-depth analyses and detailed discussions on thermal transports and energy conversion systems are of great importance for improvement of existing technologies and optimization for designs. Furthermore, it will enable energy savings and emission reduction as direct consequences.

The aim of this special issue is to collect original, unpublished papers on the latest investigation of experimental and numerical technologies in many aspects of thermal transports and energy conversions. We invite investigators to contribute to this special issue with original research articles as well as review articles on fundamental physics of advances in thermal and energy problems.

 

SCOPE

Potential topics include, but are not limited to the following topics:

  • Heat Exchangers (including recuperators, reheaters, regenerators, etc), Turbomachinery (fans, compressors, combustors, turbines, disks, etc.).
  • Renewable Energy (solar energy, wind energy, ocean energy, biomass energy, fuel cells geothermal energy, etc).
  • Multi-phase Flows and Spray, Gasification and Pyrolysis, Nanofluids and Magnetic fluids, Thermal transports in Porous Media and Composites.
  • Waste Heat Recovery, Thermal and Energy Storage, Thermoelectric Energy, Low-Carbon Equipments.

Please note that above topics are recommended and by no means exclusive. Therefore, works focused on other research areas that are in the scope of this special issue are also welcome.
