Publisher Partner
De Gruyter first launched the Publisher Partner Program in 2012 by initially signing Harvard University Press, an initiative that has now globalized to include 24 Publisher Partners. Partnerships are central to everything we do at De Gruyter. We are equal partners in the work of the scholarly community and have forged partnerships with other 200 scientific communities and academics, as well as individual scholars. De Gruyter actively seeks strategic partnerships with renowned academic publishers worldwide who share the mission of broadening the dissemination of knowledge and promoting discovery of premium, low-use scholarly monographs in an increasingly difficult financial landscape.
We also work with some partners to retro-digitize and reintroduce previously out-of-print content, and maintain exclusive rights to distribute some of our partners’ e-products. With all of our partnerships, De Gruyter is able offer a much more diverse selection of titles to our customers worldwide, and through our services, enable our partners to have their content visible on a much wider scope than ever before.
As part of the Publisher Partner Program, we are also proud to introduce our latest business model - the University Press Library where libraries can purchase the complete front list collection of ten prestigious university presses in multi-user access format. Pick by copyright year or by press, and access all eBooks through just one platform.

Publisher Partner Archives
In 2012, we received a request from Harvard University Press to digitize their archives containing over 2,500 titles. This project triggered the initiation of the Publisher Partner Archive wherein we ventured to digitize the archives of our partners. After seven years, (3 completed and 5 ongoing digitization projects later) we are proud to offer over 13,000 archives from 12 renowned academic publishers around the world, all digitized to pristine condition, with over 10,000 more titles to be digitized in the coming years. De Gruyter not only realizes the historic significance archives bring to a nation, community, and individual, but also perceives the importance of digitizing these archives to help more and more libraries to save shelf space without compromising on content.
The Publisher Partner Archive is the first of its kind to offer exclusive access to previously unavailable digital archives of 7 prestigious university presses that are available only on De Gruyter.
