Review Copies

If you are a book reviewer, you can have a look at our catalogues, and our previews. We are more than happy to support and simplify the valuable work reviewers do – suggestions are always welcome.

If you would like to stay abreast of our new and recent titles that might be of interest to you, you can subscribe to our newsletter HERE.

Given that all of our titles are available digitally, we can grant you almost immediate access to the title you would like to review. If however, you prefer a hard copy, this can be arranged, but takes longer. We would very much appreciate your informing us once your review is published.
To obtain a digital or print review copy, please help us serve you faster by using the form below. For any further information, please contact reviews@degruyter.com.

Thank you very much for your interest in our publishing program. Once you hit “SEND”, your order has been received by our distribution center and is being processed.

Please send the tear sheet of your review to

Upon using excerpts of reviews, De Gruyter is committed to the following standards (based on the recommendations of the German Publishers and Booksellers Association):

  1. Text excerpts do not comprise more than five sentences. It is possible that disconnected excerpts from the same review are combined.
  2. Text excerpts are quoted verbatim and correctly, if they are abridged, the original meaning is preserved. The combined text excerpts do not go against the leaning of the review.
  3. When review excerpts are used the source (medium/review) is always cited.
  4. Review excerpts are solely used in the context of promoting the reviewed title. This includes standard advertising measures and product information (online and offline) on all distribution channels, including the use in catalogues and databases of the book trade, libraries and the VLB (Verzeichnis lieferbarer Bücher). The use is also permitted in the context of PR, licensing and for events, e.g. presentations, public readings and trade fairs.

We, the publisher De Gruyter, agree to the use of book reviews from our journals in accordance with the rules of the Börsenverein.
