Waqas Nazeer, Division of Science and Technology, University of Education, Lahore Pakistan

Mathematical chemistry is the zone of research occupied with novel utilizations of mathematics to chemistry; it concerns itself primarily with the mathematical modeling of chemical phenomena. Mathematical chemistry has additionally at times been called computer chemistry. Major areas of research in mathematical chemistry include chemical graph theory, which deals with topology such as the mathematical study of isomerism and the development of topological descriptors or topological indices, which find application in quantitative structure-property relationships; and chemical aspects of group theory, which finds applications in stereochemistry and quantum chemistry. The special issue “Applications of Mathematics in Chemistry”  invites contributions addressing new results on topological indices, dominating theory, polynomials in graphs and Chemical Applications of Group Theory. The papers concerning uses mathematics to assist in solving chemical problems are welcomed.

The authors are kindly invited to register at our paper processing system at: http://www.editorialmanager.com/openchem/ and submit their contribution using a special track established for this topical issue (Section/Category – ‘Topical Issue on Applications of Mathematics in Chemistry'). All papers will go through the Open Chemistry’s high standards, quick, fair and comprehensive peer-review procedure. Instructions for authors are available here.
