Back to Editorial Overview

A publishing arm of De Gruyter for nearly 100 years, our department has a long history of publishing high-quality books and journals dealing directly with the law and jurisprudence.

We are particularly renowned for our comprehensive commentaries and numerous, significant single-volume issues that we publish as part of the core of our program.

We are also constantly expanding our comprehensive range of manuals for practicioners, enriching these with application-oriented tools such as checklists and contract templates.

With an average of 180 new titles each year, with over 1,600 additional ones available through our backlist, our program is constantly expanding to encompass new and fast-developing areas of the legal system.

Our portfolio is not only essential for lawyers, but also for researchers and practitioners working in related fields. And, with an additional 24 journals, the majority of which are published in English, our program is also well-built for the international market.
