HOW TO PUBLISH AN OPEN ACCESS JOURNAL

De Gruyter provides comprehensive open access publishing services for scholarly journals and Societies. Our publishing offer encompasses an integrated author-to-reader solution that includes manuscript submission, online production, marketing and post-publication services.

More than 100 learned societies, universities and associations worldwide have selected De Gruyter as a publishing partner so far. Our imprint De Gruyter Open has currently been publishing more than 350 open access journals in association with third-party organizations.

De Gruyter offers two business models for publishing society journals:

  1. AUTHOR PAYS: i.e. readers do not pay to access the content and publishing costs are borne by authors’ organizations
  2. JOURNAL PAYS: i.e. neither the reader pays to access the content, nor the author pays for publishing in the serial, and the publishing costs are borne by the journal
