ABOUT UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA PRESS |
Founded in 1890, the University of Pennsylvania Press is one of the oldest scholarly imprints in America.
It is particularly well known for its books in American history, in European history and literary studies from late antiquity through the early modern period, and on international human rights issues. Penn Press has gained a leading position also in landscape architecture and Jewish studies. By long tradition, the Press has published with distinction works of contemporary ethnography, now focusing on ethnopolitical conflicts around the world. Current catalogues show more and more books in urban studies and current and public affairs.
The Press has a distribution arrangement with the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, making its distinguished list of works in both Old and New World discoveries available to the reading public.
