Daniella Aguiar (b. 1980) is a post-doctoral researcher at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro 〈 〉. Her research interests include intersemiotic translation, dance and literature, Peirce's semiotics and philosophy, and dance theory. Her publications include “Modeling intersemiotic translation: Notes toward a Peircean approach” (with J. Queiroz, 2010); and “Translating culture/Traduire la culture” (ed. with J. Queiroz, 2010).
Joao Queiroz (b. 1963) is a professor at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora 〈 〉. His research interests include Peirce's philosophy, cognitive semiotics, intersemiotic translation, and Brazilian contemporary literature. His publications include “Information and semiosis in living systems: A semiotic approach” (with C. Emmeche & C. El-Hani, 2010); “Advances in modeling adaptive and cognitive systems” (with A. Loula, 2010); “Diagrammatical reasoning and Peircean logic representations” (with F. Stjernfelt, 2011); and “Downward determination in semiotic multi-level systems” (with C. El-Hani, 2012).
