Diversity is considered a founding principle of cultural education, and the diversity of forms of cultural expression a major strength. It is not uncommon for artistic education practice to emphasize intercultural or transcultural learning as an explicit educational goal. But what does diversity-aware education actually mean? And how open is cultural education really to the diverse needs of the most varied target groups? This book systematically illuminates these and other aspect from various vantage points. Alongside generalized, expert perspectives, the knowledge and concerns of cultural education practice as well as the resultant need for further education are all taken up.
