Abstract

This article examines the portrayal of masculinity in the chivalric saga Viktors saga ok Blávus. After winning a duel, the protagonists lament their actions, stating that they were unmasculine. The article argues that what made the behavior unmasculine was the protagonists’ unwillingness to follow societal norms, resulting in them performing monstrous masculinity.
