11. Cultural Diversity: Interplay between Corporate Culture, Organizational Diversity Management and Multilingual Inclusiveness

Abstract

Over time, companies have been increasingly recognizing the value added to being different. This paper aims to understand how organizations can best manage their internal diversity and balance the need of divergence (a need to maintain difference for creativity) and convergence (a need to gain agreement for cohesion). How can people demonstrate their uniqueness and show their sense of belongingness? What is the challenge culturally and linguistically diverse teams face and in what ways do they interact and communicate in multilingual and multicultural workplace settings? What is the impact of cultural diversity on linguistic diversity management? To what extent can “Multilingual inclusiveness culture” better value “uniqueness” for “collectivity”, building a competitive advantage for companies and individuals?
