The text compares descriptions of food products from a postcolonial point of view and discusses the question how food labels create a meaning based on the example of a crisps flavor. Further, a Namibian restaurant’s website and its menu are examined. How does food appear on the menu? What kind of narrative appears? A postcolonial reading leads through the text by naming concepts of “Africa”-cliches
