Abstract

This paper offers an overview of the activities of the interdisciplinary project Sparkling Instruments. This STEAM project used playful design and the technical development of digital musical instruments so as to raise interest in school subjects such as computer science, music and physics. With musicians, game designers and music technology experts, we presented a series of workshops that showed how such a project can be implemented in schools. We then presented our findings from the perspectives of students, teachers, the school and the project.
