Abstract

Canada’s library sector has been significantly modernised within the last few decades, with libraries enjoying great popularity among users. Reviewing current developments, the paper discusses these trends using different examples of library types – national libraries, university libraries and public libraries. Another focus is put on the national specifics of the professional training of librarians and interregional library projects.
